Delete Your Data
Last updated September 19, 2026 · Marlo Technologies LLC
You can request permanent deletion of your Marlo account from inside the app. This page explains the steps, the records removed and the limited records retained.
Delete from inside the app
This is the fastest way and it needs nothing from us:
- Open the Marlo app and go to More.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Deletion begins when you confirm. It is permanent and there is no in-app recovery window. Database, uploaded-file and external-service cleanup may take different amounts of time. If you want a copy of anything — your client list, your booking history, your payment records — export or screenshot it before you confirm.
Delete by email
If you can’t reach the app — you lost the device, you can’t sign in, or you already removed the app — email support@joinmarlo.com from the email address on the account with the subject “Delete my data.” We’ll confirm it’s you, delete the account, and email you when it’s done. Requests are completed within 30 days, and usually much faster.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account removes your provider record and its associated active Marlo data. That includes:
- Your account — login, profile, business details, settings, and preferences.
- Your clients — every client record, along with their contact details, notes, photos, and saved card references.
- Your calendar — appointments, past and upcoming bookings, availability, services, and quotes.
- Your messages — chat threads and their contents, SMS history, SMS consent records, and push notification tokens.
- Your money records — payments, payouts, receipts, and the link between Marlo and your connected Stripe account.
- Everything else you built — reviews, waitlist entries, loyalty members, gift cards, products and digital products, plans and plan members, and your referral records.
- Connected accounts — including your Instagram connection and every message we synced from it.
These are hard deletes, not flags. The records are removed from the database, not hidden.
What we keep, and why
We are required by tax, accounting, and anti-fraud law to keep a record that a transaction happened. When you delete your account we retain a de-identified financial ledger containing, for each past transaction, the amount, the tip, the currency, the payment method, the status, and the date.
That ledger contains no direct contact or card details — no name, no email address, no phone number, no address, no client details, no card number, and no account ID. Each row uses a one-way cryptographic hash instead of your account ID. We also keep a dated record of the deletion. These are restricted compliance records, not a backup that can restore your account.
Neither of these is readable by the app, by the website, or by anyone signed in. They exist only for legal and financial compliance.
Payments and Stripe
Payments in Marlo are processed by Stripe, which is a separate company and keeps its own records under its own legal obligations as a regulated financial services provider. Deleting your Marlo account removes Marlo’s copy of your payment data and its stored connection reference. External account cleanup can require follow-up; deleting Marlo does not close your Stripe account or erase Stripe’s records. To close a Stripe account, contact Stripe directly.
Instagram and Meta
If you connected Instagram to Marlo, you can disconnect it at any time without deleting your Marlo account — open Chat → Settings → Instagram in the app and tap Disconnect. Disconnecting removes Marlo’s stored connection token and stops new Instagram messages from reaching your Marlo inbox. Messages that already reached your Marlo inbox stay there, because they are your conversation history; deleting your account erases those too.
You can also revoke Marlo’s access from Meta’s side at any time — in Instagram or Facebook, go to Settings → Apps and websites and remove Marlo. That stops any further data reaching us. To also erase what we already hold, disconnect and delete your account in the app, or email support@joinmarlo.com and ask us to delete your Instagram data specifically — we’ll do that without touching the rest of your account.
If you’re a client, not a business
If you booked an appointment with a business that uses Marlo, your information belongs to that business, and they control it — the same way it would if they kept it in a notebook. Ask them to remove you, and they can delete your record from their client list directly. If you can’t reach them, email support@joinmarlo.com and we’ll help.
